Introduction

Every individual requires some kind of motivation in their life to keep moving forward, following their values and integrity. In the same way, I have my values to create a positive working environment and utmost desire to work hard towards reaching my goals. This reflection describes the challenges I face daily in approaching my studies, along with facing difficulties and criticism from the people around me. My daily motivation is to learn something new and gain experience through meeting new people and spending quality time with them.

As currently, I am trying to adjust myself to the work environment. I strive to focus on improving myself, and the thing which provides me with a positive work ethic is being trustworthy with the people surrounding me. At the same time, I am also obedient to my elders, as they are the ones who have helped me reach this stage until now. Then I accept criticism instead of arguing or blaming others because accepting mistakes is a step toward improving yourself.

Along with that, I am always loyal and committed to the tasks that are assigned to me. I desire to positively impact my family, friends and society because I believe positivity is the key to success in life. At the same time, when we talk about values, these shape the goals of your life and reflect a great deal about the person’s personality. I always show integrity in whatever tasks I do and follow my values even if I have made some poor decisions in my past life.

Thoughts and feelings

I always want to work in an environment where values are prioritised and those ethics are followed, so everyone is treated fairly. My family members proved to be a source of my motivation to live each day of life more strongly and to do something which makes them proud. Values are the basis through which a person shows integrity in his life, and these values shape the individual into an ethical person who understands the difference between the things which are morally right for them (Mason,2001).

Considering myself, I had seen changes in myself when I started studying for nursing education, and I used to be impatient, irritated and unwilling to work hard because I had no goals to achieve. Gradually with time and years, I realised that people are going ahead in their life while I am just wasting my time and arguing with people. Due to this, I started planning the goals in life I needed to achieve. As I explored myself, I understood I could live a good life by staying positive and following values and that I should be a source of inspiration in my life. As I am a person with a positive work ethic, I am interested in exploring new challenges and practising them in life to understand my level of facing difficult situations.

My contribution to my team is to help them grow, nourish their skills, and guide them with the experience I have gained through my education. In my opinion, the challenge excites me, as it gives you mixed feelings and ideas for determining a possible solution to a particular task. A team leader should possess leadership skills within him to interact socially with the people surrounding him and have proper management over his team (Day et al., 2021). My ability to work in a team has taught me to participate in different kinds of meetings. Also, I had the opportunity to have sessions with professional doctors, which was a new development for me. As I discussed my relationship with the team members, it was extremely important to me to create trust and mutual understanding with all of them. When I started analysing my strengths and weakness, I realised that I had started a depth analysis of how to care for patients as a nurse. Time management is a skill which requires a person to be organised and punctual towards his daily tasks so that work is done on time, and it is considered an important subject for work performance (Nabolsi et al., 2021).

Analysis

Learning and development is an important phase of career development to enhance the skills that a person has learned throughout his life and show creativity in all of their daily activities (Azizan et al.2018). As I analyse my learning through nursing education, I have become confident, obedient and disciplined.

Along with that, I have started being. I noticed that I could also manage my tasks on time, unlike before, when I faced difficulty doing my daily tasks. With the help of reflection and taking sessions from my mentors, I improved my weaknesses and became proactive, and then I started being self-confident. Problem-solving is a key skill to determine solutions and make decisions on time which are effective and which lead towards the fulfilment of the goals in an organisation, along with having effective communication skills to negotiate with everyone (Ertem et al.2021). Then the problem-solving process helped me determine solutions to the problems, so I can make accurate decisions now.

I have achieved a positive work ethic, and I try to stay positive by thinking about the goals I want to achieve in life, so this keeps me going even during tough times. In my course, I have also learnt that giving and taking respect is part of life and that if a person wants to be respected, he should also be respectful towards the other person. As a nurse and after getting good experience throughout this qualification, I would surely like to challenge the other teams to prove myself capable and stronger than others. I want to be ahead of others so that I can also be an inspiration and role model for other people. Also, after observing others doing work, I have now become an independent learner who wants to compete with other teams and also through my experience, I also want to transform my team into a more experienced and developed team who is confident in fulfilling their roles and tasks, and also I want them to be independent decision-makers who can stand up for themselves.

Challenges are complex and tough to deal with when things seem impossible, and professionals must deal with several challenges to get the best outcome (Smilde, 2012). Although I am ready to challenge the other teams, I also believe I need to practise and give myself more time to become a person who can do everything by himself\herself. I need to overcome my weaknesses in some areas, like working towards productivity and keeping myself calm when work or studies are under pressure. Motivation and reaching goals in life are linked to each other as a motivated person strives toward setting goals and engages in the workforce by showing interest (Phalet et al.2004).

The strategy I have planned is to keep a notebook for writing down my daily and then set time according to it so that I don’t miss out on any important tasks. Then I will plan before doing any tasks to reach my goals and work under pressure, and try to stay calm in pressure areas. Lastly, in my opinion, when a person focuses on his values and shows integrity that he can be successful and reach higher levels. I am a dedicated person, and I will keep working hard to increase my knowledge and manage my career development by learning and gaining experience.

Evaluation

Throughout this analysis, my final judgement is that I have seen myself improve and grow and have started reaching my goals in life. I have become a person who is self-determined to reach higher peaks. Then I also gained confidence in myself as before. I used to feel uncomfortable interacting and communicating, so I analysed that I have improved my communication skills and have also become an effective listener who shows empathy towards people. This qualification has given me insight into dealing with different people and taking care of the patients by understanding them.

The skills I still need to develop are focusing and giving attention to even minor details in my life and becoming a proactive person who tries to give importance to each thing. Lastly, I analysed improvement in my communication patterns and interacting behaviour, which is an accomplishment for me and a development in my learning.

Conclusion and Action plan

The conclusion that I have made in this reflection is that in the future, I will have become a team-oriented, hard-working and who manages things on time. I also see myself becoming a senior nurse who will take responsibility for supervising other nurses and giving them guidance in all the daily work activities they do. I have planned to continue to practise all the things I have been taught during the course so that I don’t forget my learning and that I will keep getting new things in mind. I will also practise self-care and do clinical sessions where I can deal with different patients, so my skills are used, and I keep gaining experience in a wider area. Reflective practice is the key to gaining success and spreading positivity, which is my motivation for learning and creating a positive work ethic in my working or educational environment.
