Impact of Smart Technology on Learning Ability of a Child

Introduction

It is a major concern of every parent that children are using smart technology more than ever before. They spend material time using smartphones, tablets, and PC playing games, watching videos, etc. Still, whether this smart technology is helpful for the children or is it impacting children’s learning abilities adversely, this research proposal is associated with this major concern to assess whether technology is helpful for children to learn new things quickly or is it negatively affecting their learning abilities.

Background

Smart technology is, without a doubt, a need in today’s era, and a country without smart technology cannot imagine surviving in this competitive world.

Therefore, smart technology is promoted around the world. However, its use is something that can bring few negative impacts. According to Ozcan and Bien (2016, p.632), one of the major concern of parents of children from age 3 onwards is that their children are using smart technology, including phones, tablets, and PCs, more than anything and are spending material time playing games and watching videos or poems, etc.

Like every other thing, smart technology also has benefits and drawbacks. It is studied by many researchers that smart technology may bring adverse results for children who use such technology extensively.

Methodology

Methodology refers to tools and methods that will be used in the research to achieve research objectives. The researcher will follow a quantitative research design because it uses numeric data (Brannen, 2017), and primary data will be collected from parents and teachers of children.

This makes the research follow the positivism philosophy of research because it believes that numbers provide accurate results. Data will be analysed through regression and correlation analysis.

This analysis technique converts the data into numbers and then provides accurate numeric form results (Ary et al., 2018). The sample size will be 50 parents and 50 teachers selected using convenience sampling.
